CPTPP Eligible Origin
CAD $9,000 saved per $50,000 garment shipment vs MFN rate
Malaysia is a CPTPP member. Garments move from an 18% MFN rate to 0% under CPTPP. Gems and jewellery move from 5–8% to 0%. Electronics and pharmaceuticals are already MFN-free, so CPTPP adds no further saving there.

Worked example
500kg of garments, Kuala Lumpur to Toronto
A 500kg shipment of garments (HS 61/62) declared at CAD $50,000 moves from KUL to YYZ via China Airlines through Taipei — the fastest confirmed routing on this lane, at 2-3 days.
Before departure, an RMCD-licensed customs agent files the K2 Declaration through uCustoms/Dagang.Net — self-filing isn't an option in Malaysia. A CPTPP Certificate of Origin (Form CO), stamped by MITI, travels with the shipment. On arrival, garments claim CPTPP treatment instead of the 18% MFN rate — the same CAD $9,000 saving on a $50,000 garment shipment calculated above.
CBSA clears the shipment against the commercial invoice and the CO reference. No dry ice or dangerous goods declaration applies here — that requirement is specific to pharmaceutical and cold-chain cargo on this lane, not to a straight garment shipment.

Why ship through UAL
12 carriers connect KUL to Canada across 6 hub routings — more choice than any single-carrier GSSA can offer.
Neutral, not carrier-tied
We're IATA-accredited and CIFFA-aligned — not a GSSA representing one airline's capacity. That means we route KUL-Canada cargo via whichever carrier is fastest or has capacity that week, not whichever pays us the best override.
Two ends, one family
Origin relationships in Kuala Lumpur. Destination relationships in Halifax built over 35 years through our family's United Travels operation. No third-party forwarder sits between the two ends of your shipment.
Direct AWB issuance
We issue the House AWB ourselves and hold the Master AWB relationship with the operating carrier directly — no forwarder-of-forwarder markup added on top of the carrier rate.

Frequently asked questions
For a compliant shipment — correct commercial invoice, HS classification, and (where claimed) a MITI-stamped CPTPP Certificate of Origin already attached to the AWB — CBSA clearance at Toronto Pearson typically runs same-day to 24 hours after the aircraft lands. Missing or mismatched CPTPP documentation is the most common cause of delay, since CBSA will hold a shipment for manual review rather than accept a duty claim it can't verify against the CO on file.
